Be careful of fake brands and knock off products…

As a blogger, I come across thousands of brands, some amazing and some not so much. But my main question I get asked is “What do you think of this brand James?” or I get the “Have you seen this James, look how cheap it is and it looks so good” You see in this day and age that we live in, there are practically thousands of brands, but between the good ones, there are some fake brands that are selling products that have a lifecycle of a fly.

It’s not that I’m worried about the brand itself, its that I’m worried that people buy these products thinking they are good and before you know it it’s broken. If you look at some of the electronics you buy now they don’t seem to have the lifespan that older products used to have. We have all heard the stories about products like dishwashers, microwaves, phones, etc. all having a piece of software that eventually makes your products stop working.

Now, do I believe that half of the products we buy today have this sort of software… I’m not sure. But what I do know is that the products that are cheap are usually made cheap.

The one that I have come in contact more recently than not is cheap watches; there are so many adverts at the moment with these amazing looking watches at incredibly low prices. Now for most people, you think ‘That’s amazing, a watch that looks like that, at that price, that’s a bargain!’ You buy it then a couple of months later the battery is already gone, you can hear a rattling inside the watch and before you know it, it’s broken.

So how do you get around these fake brands? How do you make sure these fake brands don’t trick you… Well, do your research! Make sure you look for honest reviews, comments in social media and even try and find people that have bought them! Remember its very easy to hide bad reviews nowadays so put on your Sherlock Holmes hat and know if it’s worthwhile or not.

If you think you know fake brands that people are buying, comment them below or if you have any questions about buying products online reach out to me on social media where I will be happy to answer any of your questions or concerns.
